Ray Boltz -- Thank you for giving to the Lord -- MP3 Download Free

April 2007   Pastor Garcia has fully recovered with no surgery!  The doctors were amazed!

February '07     The good news continues-Pastor Garcia is at his old self, continuing to gain strength.  We give praise to the Lord for this and all things, knowing that all things work together for the good...

December '06    Pastor Garcia continues to improve as the following sentence from Rufino indicates:  "Ok Jim one´s again thank you for your visit to Pastro Garcia he is doing much better and he has a check up with the doctor on wendsday, I will call Hector to let him know what the doctor will say to him...".

Thank you all for your prayers.  Please continue as we watch to see how the Lord will use this.

James 1 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance... Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.

James 5:11 As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy.

14 Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord.

15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise him up.

Dear James

An urgent need has arisen here in Guatemala and I am writing you to ask for your help. A friend and pastor of a local church here in the Lake Atitlan region is deathly sick and needs your prayers. Pastor Garcia of the Assembly of God Church in Godinez has been critically ill for several weeks and is now confined to his bed in a village some 4 hours from Panajachel. We will be making the drive Wednesday to visit and pray for him and his family and would ask you to pray for him as well. The Bible in James chapter 5 and verse 14 says "Is any one of you sick? He should call the elders of the church to pray over him and anoint him with oil in the name of the Lord." All christians know the power of prayer but many times we don't believe with sufficient faith to put it into action. Please help us in this effort by forwarding this request for prayer for Pastor Garcia and his family. We are asking for peace and comfort for the pastor and his family as well as God's will and glorification throughout this difficult time. Please help!

Please take a moment to read below about our interaction with the pastor and his church over the last 2 years. He has been a real blessing to us!

Medical Mission in Godinez, Feb 2005

...Well another interesting day. Our truck (loaner from Pastor) broke down on the way to our medical mission! Wait on God! And wait we did, for an hour and a half! But $9 later we were fixed! Turns out we had a direct short which melted the battery cable terminal. Go figure. When we arrived in Godinez there were many people already waiting. We quickly set up and began the process. Lucy was not able to assist us as she was very sick.

After awhile a woman with a one year old baby came in. The baby was lethargic and acting very sick, with its eyes rolled back. Cherie said the baby needed to go to the hospital immediately and I spoke with the woman about it. I told her we would take her to the hospital but she said she needed to speak with her husband. I asked her how far away she lived and she said very far. I asked the Pastor to talk with her and he did. Then her husband showed up and after hearing from his wife he said he would take care of his own baby, that we didn't really care about it anyway. He wasn't about to go to the hospital. And they left. So very sad and lamentable. But God knows why. Another woman had a baby a year and three months of age that couldn't sit up. Something was obviously wrong...

The Truck Breaks Down...At Night...Far, Far away

....Then I thought the truck was not running right. And my thoughts were confirmed when the engine quit. In the middle of no place, on a road hardly traveled, around 9:30 at night. As we coasted to the side of the road strangely enough there was no concern from any of us. A car began to approach from the other direction and Hector and Antonio were going to flag it down. However, it turned into a driveway just up the road so they went to meet it. We got out of the truck and began making jokes about our situation, not really thinking about what to do. Hector returned and said the man was willing to let us put our truck in his yard and behind his gate where it would be secure, and then take us home to Panajachel! I could scarcely believe my ears!

At this point you must realize we had $3000 worth of video equipment and over $2000 worth of medicines in our $10,000 truck. No way could we leave all this all night unattended. No way could we have found a ride home at this hour. Our phone had a dead battery even if we did not someone to call. God is great...

Heart Attack Story

July 9, 2005

The following story took place yesterday as I returned from Guatemala City. I do not fully understand it, I am merely reporting what I saw and documented with my camera. If you don't want to be challenged, don't read any further...

...When I returned pastor Garcia and the other four or five people present were praying out loud, the pastor touching the woman's heart with the Bible and asking God for help. Proclaiming the power of Jesus Christ and the glory of God he continued for maybe 30 minutes. When this began I still was incredulous, feeling that I was somehow responsible for what I was sure was going to be the death of this woman, because I wasn't demanding that we take her to the hospital. And so I knelt down beside her and took her left hand which was hanging motionless to try to find a pulse. I could find none (though this should not be surprising as things were kind of crazy and I am not a medical person) so I just held her hand as the praying continued. Every time the pastor would raise his voice proclaiming the power of Jesus I could feel this lady's hand twitch and jerk. As I looked at her she looked so bad, still not breathing right and now clutching at her heart with her right hand. As I looked around everyone was crying and praying and I just couldn't help thinking how wrong this all was. Again, I was feeling responsible for this woman's death...
