Why the name "Guatemalago"?

We are an outreach ministry from Southern California, USA.

Our ministry, while still being revealed to us, consists of a number of projects that we have outlined on the index to the left. Please feel free to visit each one!

Additionally, God has opened the door to the showing of The Passion of The Christ in churches throughout our area of Lake Atitlan. It is such a blessing to watch the people as they watch (most for the 1st time) this stunning movie.

God is so good and gracious to us all as He continues to direct our path and develop this ministry for the people of Guatemala. What a blessing to see His love in action and watch as He works in and through us, and sometimes, in spite of us. He is so good!

We are also teaching 4 classes of English daily to over 75 Guatemalan people. And we have sponsered medical clinics to the poor outlying villages as God has directed.

And after the devastation of hurricane Stan we have begun helping people rebuild their lives and their homes.

God is SO good!

This ministry began on a vacation to Guatemala in 2004. While visiting Panajachel in January I "happened" upon a church and wanted to try to help them in some way. But unfortunately, there was no way to contact anyone as there were no names or phone numbers written anywhere on or near the church. Oh well...

The next day as we were exiting a cab in the town we just "happened" to see a Bible Bookstore directly across the street. Upon inquiring of the owner as to the Pastor of the church we were told he didn't know who it was. Oh well...

But then he stopped us as we were leaving and said there was a woman who just "happened" to be walking down the street who might know. When he returned he had the phone number! So we called that afternoon and made arrangements to visit the church that evening. And that was how God just "happened" to start a ministry in Guatemala!

Today this church is building a new building (built by it's members) next to the small older building. The new church is scheduled for completion around Christmas!   --FLASH--  The new church has been completed and was dedicated in November of 2005!

And that's how it all just sort of "happened".
